32 days of Conference

Well yesterday was a rough one, and I missed posting yesterday's talk. So here is yesterday's link:

https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/do-we-know-what-we-have?lang=eng

To me, this talk was the absolute best of the whole conference. I usually love the talk given by Elder Holland, but his couldn't hold a candle to this one.

Then for today's talk:

https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/look-ahead-and-believe?lang=eng

Read or watch both and come back and discuss what you gleaned from each, share your thoughts, your favorite quote or something the Spirit whispered to you as you watched or read these wonderful talks.

32 Days of Conference

32 days of General Conference

Day 2 of the 32 day General Conference Challenge. With the talks you can read, watch or listen to them. I like to do all three where permitted. Kind of hard to listen or watch with 7 kids running around. But nonetheless, being able to have these inspired words to reflect on is a wonderful thing. Please take the time to ponder these words and study them out in your mind. Beginning with a prayer each time you study a talk is the best way to get all you can out of the talk of the day. So without further adieu, the talk for today is:

I would love to read your comments and insights on it.

My inspiration for the title of this blog:

Holy Ground
By Mercy River

I guess my life has somehow been like the woman caught in sin
She sat there broken at His feet she knew the law
But heard let he who’s without sin cast the first stone
And not a single one was thrown
With no man left there to accuse, she left behind her tattered shoes
I’m on Holy Ground now and I don’t ever want to leave
Hold me here now and keep my feet planted down in what I’ve found
Upon this holy ground

I know I didn’t have to leave to find this feeling inside me
But I left it all the same I broke the rules to win the game
And now its clear from where I stand, I could’ve always felt His Hand
And though His touch I did refuse, I’m laying down these tattered shoes

With every moment standing here I can feel Him drawing near
And if I could stay in this place I’m sure that I could see His face
And yet I know life must go on, so let this memory linger on inside
Become a part of me

I’m on Holy Ground now and I don’t ever want to leave
Hold me here now and keep my feet planted down in what I’ve found
Upon this holy ground

32 days of Conference

32 days of Conference:

I thought what a great way to kick off my new blog than with a 32 day challenge! There are 32 days until General Conference. General Conference is a time when members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gather all over the world, to listen to the Prophet, the Apostles and other church leaders, speak and give counsel on spiritual and church matters. Each speaker is guided my the Spirit as to what to talk about. There is always something in one of the many talks that is just for you, me or maybe someone you know. The first talk is for today. So here it is:

https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/general-conference-strengthening-faith-and-testimony?lang=eng

Please read it and then come back here and share your thoughts on it. I am looking forward to reading what you gleaned from it.

Kira
Just a little introduction to me:

I am a Daughter of God, first and foremost. Then a wife and mother of 9 beautiful children, that Heavenly Father so richly blessed me with, to take care of.

I love being a mommy and wife. I am a Daughter of God with divinely given gifts that help to fulfill the role I was given by my Heavenly Father. It is such a joy to raise the children He blessed me with along side my eternal companion, my husband. I am LDS. I have such a love in my heart for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy attending church with my family. My favorite part of being able to attend church, is partaking of the Sacrament every Sabbath. To be able to renew the covenants I made with the Lord at my baptism, gives me strength to face the day to day challenges of raising 7 children and dealing with the loss of 2

This blog was created after I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to begin one. I had thought about starting one before, but never felt ready. The title is inspired by a song from Mercy River called Holy Ground.
